Bertha is not ready to celebrate just yet. Yes, she saw the throngs of people protesting NO KINGS. Yes, she even made a brief appearance. Yes, she flaunted them, our girl was not about to attend without voicing her opinions. If anyone gave the finger, she mooned them. If they shouted pro Trump comments, she went rogue. Puppy warned her not to do it, it was cold, so things were at full visibility, some things snuck out, despite her getting the change. Did she care? No. This was just an extra gift she exposed to the world. She received a standing ovation. Sounds of shake it mama, and you go girl!! ,” could be heard from groups of people. Some older ladies gave a thumbs up, others started to take off their sweaters, until the husbands gave the “don’t even think about it’, look.
Despite the throngs of people chanting in unison, still Bertha is uneasy. She is worried Trump and his minions will cheat at any cost to win back the house and senate. Already reports of him stealing ballots has her fuming and screaming at the GOP senators about their lack of care, nor desire to 25 this grotesque beast. She is shaking at the thought of him invoking martial law before the November 3 elections, inciting riots from attacks on national monuments. Those would be guaranteed to bring on another riot, giving his martial law to him, guaranteed. If that does not work, he will suddenly insist those not showing proof of vaccination for the latest faux virus from China, or wearing masks, banned from voting. Trust sheep he will find a way to cheat, no matter the cost to democracy or to the damage it will cause the American People. Bertha is not having any of it. She will celebrate when all votes are counted, results are exposed for all to see, proof that democracy won, and cheating did not. When she sees in international tribunal taking place worldwide, charging him with war crimes, crimes against our people and those in nations he attacked, unprovoked, deserved, and will take eons to repair the damage? Then Bertha will be dancing in the streets, naked of course. Would we want her any other way?
As for the musical version of Romeo and Juliet that still has not been resolved, whose souls are still in a land of misunderstanding, fear and doubt, wrong assumptions that the other moved on without them? We wish Romeo a Happy 54th birthday, still praying he comes home to Juliet. He has the means to find her, said he would never give up looking if they were ever separated, no matter what the circumstances. He has her phone number. Both can be looked up, with her address. Juliet can only DO so much. Did you ever hear of a prince that would not pound every door to find his true love? Of course not. She is waiting for her glass slipper.
